Emmanuel – God with us: Meditations on the Incarnation

The Retreat will be led by the Rev Dr Caroline Friswell, a former Spiritual Director of Durham Anglican Cursillo (DAC). Caroline has led a number of retreats for DAC in the past and has many years of experience as a Spiritual Director, with an interest in Ignatian spirituality and charismatic renewal.

Christmas time can be such a busy period that we lose sight of the true meaning of the Nativity and the reality of God becoming flesh and dwelling amongst us. What is more, as we focus on Jesus’ public ministry, death and resurrection, we can all too easily forget the significance of the fact that he is truly human as well as truly divine.

The retreat provides an opportunity to explore the Incarnation in fresh ways with time to reflect on Christ’s birth and humanity and what that means for us. The retreat will be, primarily, for personal spiritual nourishment and renewal but will also help to deepen your understanding of how significant the Incarnation is to our Christian discipleship and ministry.
